Why did we take Veikulåsen as the kennel name?
For several years I hunted in a moose terrain by Gol in Hallingdal. There the moose herd was far from being stable. The season before our last hunt in the area, we went for seven days without being in contact with any moose. But on day eight it turned around. Urban was walking with Elgåsens Roy in one part of the hunting terrain and I was walking in the other part. After a while the dogs were baying, but both had problems getting close. The baying sounds slowly got closer to each other. To make a long and exciting hunting story into a short and boring; we both shot bulls about 300 meters apart. The place was called Veikulåsen.

I guess it’s unnecessary to say that we had a little celebration drink that evening.....

Veikulåsens Kennel is breeding Norwegian elkhound gray and Jemthund (Jämthund).
We prefer to sell our dogs to serious hunters only.
